Safe energy alternatives
Ontario residents can fill out an application to the microFIT Program at http://microfit.powerauthority.on.ca/login.php
The next steps are to:
1.Receive your conditional offer of microFIT contract from the OPA.
Work with your local distribution company to get your microFIT project connected to the electrical distribution grid.
2.Arrange for a safety inspection of your microFIT project with the Electrical Safety Authority. For more information about the Electrical Safety Authority, visit www.esasafe.com. This will cost you about $300.
3.Wait to be notified of your microFIT program contract offer. The OPA will send you an electronic contract offer once your microFIT project is connected. They will pay you 80.2 cents a KWhr for all the energy you produce minus some line and admin charges.
No noise, no unhappy neighbours, clean green locally produced energy. On Manitoulin Island and area contact Michael Murray Independent Energy Solutions
There are hundreds of new cleaner energy solutions being developed all the time from new solar, solar-thermal, wind, wind with storage, hydro – free running and low head, next generation nuclear technologies, clean coal, geothermal and more! Space and time precludes outlining all of the above and keeping up to date. It is up to all of us to do our research and be part of the solution. There is no shortage of new ideas to better match our lifestyles to the needs and capabilities of our amazing planet.
Samantha, a student, sent us these links all the way from Phoenix. She has already figured out that the real answer lies not in producing more energy but in learning to use less!
